Daren Taylor

Long hours at a desk. Tension in the upper back.

Daren first came to Craig a few years ago with tension and knots in his upper back. He was working from home, spending much of the day behind a computer.

After assessing him, Craig linked the discomfort to muscular tension associated with his desk-based routine.

A month of focused, hands-on work.

Craig saw Daren weekly over the course of a month, using a combination of sports massage techniques to address the tension in his upper back.

  • Trigger point work
  • Myofascial release
  • Cupping
  • Scraping
  • Deep tissue massage

The treatment helped relieve much of the tension. Happy with the improvement, Daren chose to continue treatment to help maintain it.

Back to the gym, with a clear focus.

Through their conversations, Craig learned that Daren had previously been an Ironman athlete. Regular movement had once been a significant part of his life.

Craig encouraged him to return to the gym. They now train together regularly, focusing on strengthening his back and core alongside his ongoing treatment.

Less tension. More regular movement.

Craig reports that Daren's upper-back tension has eased, his posture has improved, and he has lost a little weight during this period.

The work is ongoing: regular training and continued treatment are now part of Daren's routine.

  • Reduced upper-back tension
  • Improved posture
  • A return to regular training

Based on Craig's treatment notes. This is one client's experience; individual results vary.
